Thesis Reset

One sentence.
25 minutes.

Thesis Reset is a printable 30-day workbook for BSc and MSc thesis writers. Every day is two focused sprints, a breathing reset between them and a three-minute log. You can run today's session right here.

25:00
Sprint 1
63 minutes in all. It rings when each part ends.

Day 1, as printed

Each day is a two-page spread: one rule, one exercise and one breathing anchor, then the log. Every rule comes in two variants, A for the proposal and literature stage and B for the data and writing stage. Fill it in with a pen.

Workbook day 1, left page: target objective, brain dump line, today's rule with A and B variants, and the thesis exercise. Workbook day 1, right page: mindfulness anchor, sprint log checkboxes, post-session reflection with stress and energy scales, and lines for notes.

The timer is the boss

When it rings, stop, even mid-sentence. An unfinished sentence is the easiest place to restart from tomorrow.

Breaks are for your nervous system

Sustained focus raises your heart rate and narrows attention. After two or three hours it turns into the fried feeling that makes the next session harder to start. So every break is a breathing or movement protocol, not a phone check.

Log the bad days too

"Did 1 sprint, quit, stress 4" is data. Thirty imperfect entries show you patterns. Ten perfect entries show you nothing.

30 days in four weeks

Each week installs the habits the next one assumes, from a clear desk on day 1 to a simulated defense near the end.

  1. Days 1-7

Clearing brain fog and building the daily ritual

Brain dump, tab clean-up, box-breathing sprints, micro-outlining the chapter you are avoiding.

  2. Days 8-14

    Overcoming procrastination with deep-work sprints

The 5-minute starter rule, active recall without notes, 1000 words in 100-word blocks.

  3. Days 15-21

Managing panic and building stress resilience

4-7-8 breathing, sensory grounding, re-framing imposter syndrome, the "good enough" drafting rule.

  4. Days 22-30

Final sprint, polish and defense confidence

Proofreading with fresh eyes, a simulated defense, the final citation check and an emergency panic cheatsheet.
